This role will involve hands-on work with network hardware, structured cabling, and site-based services. You will collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure optimal network operations while supporting a variety of IT and telecom systems. If you’re experienced in racking and stacking hardware, troubleshooting network issues, and supporting field deployments, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to ServiceNow tickets and provide hands-on support for network equipment.
- Perform hardware installation: racking, stacking, power/cable patching, and decommissioning.
- Identify and label network circuits and switch port locations.
- Assist with troubleshooting (e.g., DNS lookups, ping testing, console errors, power/failure lights).
- Provide smart hands support for IT infrastructure and telecom systems.
- Escort and coordinate with third-party vendors or subcontractors.
- Report and escalate site environmental issues (cooling, leaks, etc.).
- Support end-user LAN and voice IMAC activities.
- Adhere to Company risk, change, and safety management protocols.
- Provide support during emergency scenarios and assist with Disaster Recovery Plans.
- Assist with deployment and maintenance of remote/offshore infrastructure:
- Fiber, copper cabling, and wireless systems (WiFi, BLE, Microwave)
- VSAT, cellular (LTE, 5G, NB-IoT), and LPWAN (LoRaWAN)
- Specialty telecom systems (IPT, CCTV, alarms, intercom, PAGA)
- Collaborate with engineering teams, service desks, operations centers, and telecom providers.
- Contribute to Root Cause Analysis processes after incidents.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in network infrastructure support and hardware maintenance.
- Proven expertise in cabling, racking/stacking, and network device troubleshooting.
- Experience with network technologies including routing, switching, firewalls, WiFi, IP Telephony, RF equipment.
- Proficient in performing onsite equipment installation, relocation, and removal.
- Familiarity with console access, DNS lookup, and basic power/network testing.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
